As a steward of the game of football, Schutt Sports recognizes that young players must have access to equipment that is equal to, or even better than, the equipment used up the ranks. That's why we've designed several lines of faceguards specifically engineered to provide protection and performance to the game's younger players.
The Schutt JR Pro faceguards may look just like their big brothers - the Varsity SUPER-PRO carbon steel faceguards - but they've been painstakingly engineered to fit the youth player. Scaled down to size, these JR Pro provide the same rugged and durable construction, as well as he protection demanded by coaches, players and parents.
To tell the difference between the JR Pro and the SUPER-PRO models, take a close look at the Mid-1 and Mid-2 wires: on the JR Pro models, both wires have been welded to the outside of the wire frame.
Available in two styles, both standard configurations.
This faceguard can be mounted on Schutt football helmets using traditional mounting hardware or the hardware that is required with our exclusive Quarter-Turn Release System. It's important to note that the hardware is not interchangeable.
Our exclusive Quarter-Turn Release System featured in our Elite Series helmets uses hardware (screws and T-Nuts) that makes it easier to attach and detach faceguards from a football helmet. The Quarter-Turn Release System requires larger holes be drilled into the helmet shell to accept its special hardware.
Therefore, older model faceguards will only properly fit helmets designed for the Quarter-Turn Release System if the guard is attached with the Quarter-Turn Release System hardware.
You should never attach a faceguard to a helmet using traditional hardware if the helmet has been designed for the Quarter-Turn Release System. Doing so may compromise the helmet's performance.
