Helmet Features:
TPU Cushioning:
The Youth ION 4D uses Thermoplastic Urethane (TPU) Cushioning that's been proven superior to traditional foam padding in game-like conditions: better impact absorption, better heat management and better hygienics. TPU Cushioning won't take a compression set, won't break down (even after thousands of impacts) and is resistant to mold, mildew, fungus and bacteria while providing a barrier against MRSA and staph concerns.
Valve Attachment System:
This new hook and loop attachment system locks the inflation valves into place. There's no more struggling to keep the valve lined up with the helmet shell.
Large Standoff Helmet Shell:
The Youth ION 4D features one of the game's boldest helmet designs. Made from a hardened polycarbonate alloy, it's a large standoff helmet shell that features maximum space for packing in more (and bigger) TPU Cushioning. That gives you maximum performance and protection.
Quarter Turn Release:
Possibly the fastest and easiest faceguard attachment system on the field. Like the name says, a simple quarter-turn of the screw locks the faceguard into place or, more importantly, releases it from the helmet. Standard on the Youth ION 4D Series.
AiR Maxx TPU Jaw Pads:
Leveraging the same great technology from our helmet cushioning system, these new jaw pads from Schutt are standard on all our TPU youth helmets, as well as the Hybrid+ and Hybrid series. Combining the protection of TPU with the comfort and fit of a soft, vinyl-covered jaw pad, the open sided AiR Maxx TPU jaw pads also do a great job of pulling cool air into your helmet - maximizing air circulation.
SURE FIT Air Liner:
Schutt helmets are the most comfortable football helmets on the field. The secret behind their comfort and precision fitting is the exclusive SUREFIT Air Liner. The two-piece system features two inflation ports for the ultimate custom fit. It's made from a soft but durable anti-microbial material.
Removable Moisture Management Pad: Wicks away excess sweat and moisture, keeping your vision clear.
Large-standoff helmet shell, built from a hardened Polycarbonate alloy.
All-New valve attachment system for the AiR-LOC inflation ports

- The Youth ION 4D comes standard with one pair of 1 1/8" AiR Maxx TPU jaw pads.
- The Schutt Youth ION HC chin strap (#7867) comes standard with the Youth ION 4D.

Bought the schutt ion 4 for my 10 year old son . great looking helmet , visibility is awesome , he loves it ! playing for 3 years.This helmet is the best helmet out there today . Considered the Riddell Revolution 360 but too much money, less visibility ,temperature is hotter inside helmet, and less face masks to choose from .
